Why Spring Cleaning your Marketing is ESSENTIAL

Who doesn’t love a good Spring clean? (I mean if I could put those side glancing emoji eyes from our iphones in here I WOULD!) I love a good clear out, but maybe not one that requires Mrs Hinch skills and minky cloths…

Who doesn’t love a good Spring clean? (I mean if I could put those side glancing emoji eyes from our iphones in here I WOULD!) I love a good clear out, but maybe not one that requires Mrs Hinch skills and minky cloths…

But Spring cleaning is something that I’ve taken to on my Blog, because I was feeling a little uninspired and stuck on what to write next! I’ve deleted ALL of my posts, bar one and created 2x new categories for my Blog that feel more aligned with where I’m currently at.

Why?

Well, it wasn’t because everything I’d written was bad, but I’d personally and business wise evolved SO MUCH, that is was time to re-write with fresh eyes and a new perspective. So here I am, sharing my Spring cleaning tips nearly a whole season too late, as it’s essentially Summer now! But these all apply at any time of the year. So if you’re feeling a bit uninspired and stuck on writing your Blog, updating your website or creating content for your Instagram, let me talk you through some tips on how to spring clean and get back your imagination:

1). Audit all the places you are online

If you’re proud of what you’re putting out into the world, you’ll be much happier and inspired. So let’s start by looking at all of the places you market your business online and start making some notes on how we feel about them; what do you think is working and what is clearly getting you bogged down.

You also want to be looking at your Insights. So don’t just take your own opinion and word for it, actually see what content, Blogging, marketing is working for you! For Instagram you have your Insights tab, for your website provider it should have it’s own built in tool for Insights, along with Google Analytics! (If you haven’t set up Google Analytics, GO DO IT NOW!)

2). Mind mapping ideas

I LOVE a good mind map! Get that notebook out again and start creating content ideas for all of the areas you market your business and just write down everything that comes to mind, or that would just be FUN TO MAKE. You can always cull the list later, so just go a little mad ;)

3). Re-align yourself with your Brand

Go back to basics here; once you’ve audited, culled and created some ideas that get you excited again; have a look over your Branding.

No, I’m not talking about your logo and colours! Branding is so much deeper than that, what is your Brand’s Mission, what is your Purpose of being in business, how do you want your clients and customers to FEEL?

It’s ESSENTIAL that the content you now create and your marketing in general, is aligned with your Brand. Because when you get your Brand right, that’s where the magic happens and where an audience of loyal fans and repeat customers begins to build ;)
